Most people look at prayer and fasting as drudgery, pain, hunger, ‘no food’, etc. Yes, we may experience some or all of that, but the benefits of prayer and fasting far outweigh the journey through it. If we focus on the Jesus and the ‘gifts’ of fasting we will receive, prayer and fasting can turn into a journey of joyful celebration and intimacy with God.
