The Promise of the Spirit

Religion has long sought to thwart the power of the Gospel, but in amazing ways the Lord always proves the truth of the Gospel. For example, when Paul and Barnabas went to Iconium, the Word says, “the apostles stayed there a long time, preaching boldly about the grace of the Lord. And the Lord proved their message was true by giving them power to do miraculous signs and wonders.” (Acts 14:3) Without the Holy Spirit, even the message of Christmas becomes secular and powerless.
