Text: Deuteronomy 8:18 ESV
Under the old covenant with Israel, God promised to reward their obedience with prosperity and health based on their obedience. Even though He told them that His commandment was not too hard for them, we know they fell woefully short. Under the new covenant, which has even better promises, Jesus became our substitute and fulfilled all the requirements. Through the power of the Holy Spirit we can keep His word on our lips and in our hearts so that we can obey it. Praise the Lord!
