Why do we teach faith? We find another reason in Hebrews 6:1 which instructs us that after repentance from dead works, faith toward God is the next essential principle or foundation stone for the believer. That is why from earliest times, church leadership taught their followers that those who were made righteous through Jesus’ death and resurrection, must live by faith. “And we desire that each one of you show the same diligence to the full assurance of hope until the end, that you do not become sluggish, but imitate those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.” (Hebrews 6:11-12)
